After months of testing it ourselves, we are now involving a handful of trusted testers to use Steps in the real world. It looks promising so far; we haven’t found any new bugs yet. There are still a few features missing in this beta version, which are going to be part of the final release. We are hoping to ship Steps 1.0 for iPhone within the next couple of weeks.

Hi,
Do you have any room left for beta testers.
I’m still looking for the killer task manager…
Thanks.
Best regards,
Nick

Looks interesting. Would like to be a Beta tester as well.
I didn’t see anything about recurring tasks. (usually I have tasks which I needed to be reminded on a monthly basis, my bills for example)

Very interested in your app design and functionality.
If you still have room available I would like to be a beta tester for the app.
Thank you.

Looks awesome!

This is Mike Vardy, a contributor at Cult of Mac.
I’d like to take a look at Steps to see if the readers at Cult of Mac would be interested in a full review. Could you provide beta-testing privileges for the app in advance (as I received for Clear, which Steps is being compared to) or a promo code when it is released so I could provide a review?
Thanks,
Mike Vardy

Looks awesome. I would like to make a review of it. What can I do to be a betatester?

We are testing the app with a very small group of people. Please stay a little bit more patient. We are planning on a release in near future.

I’ve downloaded “Clear” but it is nothing but a listing app. Has huge limitation. But I think “Steps” is the One I’m looking for. Sync with Google task is my Primary requirement. Thanks!

Please let me know the approximate release date & Price as well.

Interesting concept. May be more than “just another to-do app”. I am still looking for a task managing app that is simple and yet powerful, just right for a “normal” guy’s use. That said, please don’t forget recurring tasks! Everybody has things to do that repeat on a regular basis, like paying rent, bringing out the garbage and such. Most task managers on the app store fall short here. Plus reminders. π

Really like the look of this app. Recently got “Clear” that was released on the App Store and was dissapointed but think your app can be just what I am after as the two has some visual simularities (which I like) but your app has a lot more functionality (like notes, syncing and setting dates on tasks).
Will definatly get this day 1 once you release it.

Looks good, I like ToDo apps (buying multiple – including the recent Clear – and thinking I should’ve stayed with 2Do), and a good UI.
How much will it be?

Waiting for this app for a long time but no responses other than “we will let you know”. Please make it available asap. I need Push Notification & Google Tasks & iCloud Sync. That’s why I’m looking for this. Otherwise iPhone built-in Reminder is OK enough.

Sorry, but two or three weeks is hardly a long time. Developing something that is really elegant and easy to use takes time. And sometimes you make decisions you need to reverse later, so that adds more time. And then there are bugs and experience issues you need to look at. We are creating a really great app here and we believe it is well worth the waiting time. There are plenty of other apps that sync with Google Tasks. You’ll find them on the App Store. If you are not satisfied with them, we can’t blame you. That’s why we are building Steps. But you will have to stay patient. We won’t announce a release date before we are 100% sure it’s the best app we can deliver.

Henning, I’m pleased that you replied. I understand that you are trying very hard. I looked so many tasks app in the store but I found none are complete according to my requirement. But when I heard about “Steps” it was written that “Google Tasks & iCloud Sync” will be available with “Steps” that’s why again I would like to confirm. About waiting, if those feature are available then I’ve no other choice than waiting π

If you need something before you can get Steps, take a look at GoTasks. It is a task manager available for iOS that syncs with Google Tasks.
By Sharif Shajib Ahammed February 21, 2012 - 4:57 am
Already using “GoTasks” & “reminders” but I need something that syncs both servers. “GoTasks” is good but UI is not attractive. Tested “Clear” in the very 1st day of launching and very very disappointed π Hoping you guys will not disappoint us.
By Henning February 21, 2012 - 7:18 am
Steps will use iCloud as a storage solution for data in the cloud. It does not sync with iCal or Reminders.

Will a Mac and ipad version be shipped simultaneously at launch?
Keep up the good work!
By Henning February 20, 2012 - 8:29 pm
We will release the apps in subsequent order. Right now we are working on release 1.0 for the iPhone.

Wow, Steps sound fantastic! Just what I’ll need. A must have.

Nice work, can’t wait for the release π
